Wadsley Bridge to Oughtibridge
2.5 miles/4km
Overview
This section of the Upper Don Trail follows the National Cycle Network (Route NCN627). It’s flat, accessible to all users, and low traffic or off-road. It leads you first along Clay Wheels Lane, with its large mid 20th century factory units.
Then the lane becomes wooded and quieter, with the River Don never far away. Further on it leads into a glorious riverside path through Beeley Wood where ancient beech trees tower over you and traces of the former water mills can be spotted along the route.
At Oughtibridge there are shops, cafes, pubs and a playground and buses back to Sheffield
